The University of San Carlos celebrates the election of its newest member of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Magdaleno Albarracin, in a corporate meeting held last September 2010. A person of competence,Dr. Albarracin brings with him a broad and rich experience that marks a distinguish career in private business and academic institutions.
Dr. Albaracin, Electrical Engineer, by profession, is also a holder of Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration and a Doctorate Degree in Business  Administration,  having studied in University of the Philippines, University of Michigan and Harvard University.

His present affiliation includes, Vice Chairman of, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Philippine Investment-Management, Inc. (Phinma,Inc.), Vice Chairman of Araullo University, Cagayan De Oro College,and University of Ilo-ilo. He is also the  Chairman of the UP Engineeing Research and Development Foundation(UPERDF), Senior Executive Vice- president of Phinma Corporation, and President of HOLCIM Philippines.

He is  currently a Director of the above mentioned universities and college, AB Capital Group, Phinma, Inc., Phinma Foundation, Inc., Phinma Corporation, Phinma Property Holdings Corporation,Union Galvasteel Corp., Trans-asia Oil and Energy Dev.Corp. and Trans-Asia Power Corp., a member of the Board of Regent of the University of the Philippines (U.P.) and a trustee of the U.P. Foundation Inc.

Aside from directorship and membership of different Boards of Universities, his academic background includes his past positions as chairman in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Dean in the College of Business Administration of the University of the Philippines.
