Who says missionaries can’t be good managers? Father Generoso Rebayla, SVD, combines religious and academic training with business savvy.

His undergraduate degree in Accounting and stint in corporate finance prior to seminary formation proved useful for his assignments as a priest, whether it was to run a small parish in Northern Mindanao or to keep the coffers of a big university such as USC or the whole SVD Southern Province.

It helped, of course, that he finished a Master’s degree in Management in the Asian Institute of Management or that this native of Southern Leyte had seen how they do it abroad, through his many exposure trips.

Sound financial management enables the University to pursue its lofty goals of academic excellence. It needs realists like Fr. Rebayla to keep everything in check.
