While it is often true that the mere pleasure of discovering ideas is enough reward for the inquisitive mind, it remains open to countless other ways by which it can mix learning and fun. And it doesn’t have to be all solitary mind games. The various “fields of knowledge” housed under the University provides the student with a range of learning and fun activities. With proper time management, the Carolinian may balance curricular learning with extra-curricular pursuits.

You may, for example, play in a soccer team, see the rings of Saturn with star-struck nerds, learn an instrument in a religious rock band, discuss the merits of an anime film, or run for president in the student government in between term exams.

More than providing you with opportunities to meet new friends or fight homesickness, these extra-curricular activities may yet prove to be a journey of self-discovery, as you will soon find out that you can do things more worthwhile than scouting for the prettiest face in the campus.

Of course, the fun part is meant to make you enjoy your stay in school and not end it.
