SBE studes bag 1st place in Business and Dev’t comp

Three students from the School of Business and Economics (SBE) bagged 1st place in the recently concluded Student Business and Development Case competition hosted by the Alumni Association of the Asian Institute of Management (AAIM) and Ayala-AIM Alumni Club (AAAC) last Friday, March 22, 2019 at the City Sports Club Cebu.

The winning SBE team was composed of Kimberly Candice Lim (B.S. Accountancy 5), John Paul Gonia (B.S.B.A. Financial Management 4), and Nina Marie Maandig (B.S. Economics 4) (see photo below).

The event is one of the highlights of the 2019 AAIM Leadership, Live It Conference with the theme “Wisdom and agility amidst disruptions where experience and youth converge.” The competition focused on Cebu’s competitiveness in the light of preparing the next generation for the future from a millennial perspective.

Aside from a cash prize, trophies and medals, Lim, Gonia and Maandig received an AIM executive short course scholarship of their choice.

Other competing teams were UP Cebu group 1 (2nd place), Holy Name University (3rd place), UP Cebu group 2 (Finalist), and USC SBE group 2 (Finalist). The second USC team was composed of Mel Clifford Basanal (B.S. Accountancy 5), Jamie Roselle Yu (B.S.B.A. Financial Management 4), and Dagie Sabuero (B.S. Economics 4). Faculty team advisers were Allan O. Gozon and Dr. Corazon G. Anzano.
