Scholarships
The University grants scholarship privileges as grants-in-aid to students who excel in their studies, as well as to those who qualify as members of USC varsity teams and USC performing arts groups, and to those who are financially deprived. Scholarships are likewise afforded to deserving students who meet the requirements of alumni associations, government and private scholarships benefactors. The Scholarship Program then at USC consists of those sponsored by the University, Alumni, Government and Private Institutions. Application Forms for Scholarships are to be obtained from the Office of Scholarships. Duly accomplished forms together with the specified requirements have to be submitted within the official registration period, unless otherwise specified.
As a general rule, scholarship grantees are not allowed double-scholarship at the same time. But, if there are those qualified for two scholarship funded only by the University, they can be entitled to the scholarship that provides the higher financial grant, upon the endorsement of the Office of Scholarship. However, those who are beneficiaries of a scholarship grant funded by other institutions, not by USC, or private individuals are entitled to also avail of a tuition fee discount privilege due them because of scholastic excellence (i.e., Graduation Honors and Dean’s Honors List) and membership in varsity teams and performing arts groups recognized by the University.
Carolinians USA Midwest Organization
Dear Sir/Madam:
Greetings!
Few days from now on April 7, 2009 I'll have in hand the graduation belt I am aspiring for. Time flies so fast indeed. It just seems like yesterday when I was entering the portals of USC but here I am, soon leaving my steps. Up to now, it is still a woder for me that I have surpassed that chapter of my life. Soon I'll be starting another path and I hope I can be successful also.
Meanwhile, as you've known I haven't really expected this scholaship privilege I have enjoyed and I consider this opportunity as a blessing intended for me. For 4 years (SS 2005-2009), you have enabled me to put into reality my aspiration to finish college. Your generosity is a gift I will always be grateful of. Though I have said this many times, but without you I could have never gone to college. Thank you very much.
My college life was tough. I often come across to school pressures and most especially financial inadequacy. Yet I was glad I have stood above it all and you've been my help to that. The opportunity that you have given me had been my source of isnpiration to pursue my dream in getting a college degree. I have to believe that it is not impossible to dream. In the near future, if success comes at hand I will try my very best to give back what you have shared to me in any way I can. This is one Carolinian value our school has inculcated in me that I will never forget. As much as I have been grateful to you, I am as well thankful to USC and the Scholarships Office for giving me their support all throughout.
In behalf of my family, again thank you very much. I hope that you'll never cease lending a hand to people like me who can't afford for a college degree.
Good luck to all of us!
Best regards to all of you and God bless.
Yours truly,

Steffi A. Duque
