Twenty-two Carolinians passed the 2019 Pharmacist Licensure Examination (PLE) held on March 6 and 7, achieving a 100% passing rate for first time takers. Results of the examination were released by the Professional Regulations Commission in three working days from the last day of examination.
The passers of the March 2019 PLE are the following: Faith Levi Alferez, Nikkae Angob, Denise Michelle Cablao, Angelica Collantes, Jelly Ann dela Peña, Jessa Christine Desoloc, Karima Sacha Duterte, Sealine Anne Margarette Germo, Jun Hirano, Shara Khris Lanugan, Nicole Kate Lopez, Shayne Joy Malbas, Aprille Maligmat, Nicole Mosende, Christine Vangelyn Pamonag, Reyen Niña Pareja, Jed Anne Pepito, Chloe Ravenne Pili, Rubena Marie Rabuya, Venice Angel Rosales, and Glorymar Tangarorang.
The new Carolinian pharmacists were among the 2,100 out of 3,234 (64.94%) passers of the PLE given by the Board of Pharmacy in the cities of Cebu, Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Iloilo, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
“The Carolinian brand of excellence is one that has been tested by time and polished by adversity. To say excellence was achieved overnight is to ignore the commitment and dedication of the administrators, teachers, staff and alumni, as well as other stake holders of the university,” said Elizabeth Tan, Chair of the USC Department of Pharmacy.
In the August 2018 licensure examination, the Department of Pharmacy was recognized as the 2nd Top Performing School with a 100% passing rate for first-time takers and a graduate who placed 7th in the examination. In the August 2017 examination, USC also achieved a 100% passing rate for first-time takers and a Carolinian even bagged 1st place.
“What has remained constant amidst change is the commitment and dedication of the teachers and students. These two together work towards maintaining the excellence of the 72-year old Department of Pharmacy,” said Tan. “The recognition we continue to enjoy, as reflected in the past and current ratings of the licensure exam, is a reward we do not take lightly. As the biblical passage goes: ‘More is expected to whom more is given,’” Tan added.
