  • Nature  of the student financial assistance
    • Scholarships (Merit) – emphasis on excellent academic performance, artistic talent or athletic skill
    • Grants-in-Aid (Non-Merit) – emphasis on long-term financial status and need of the family
    • Loans (Non-Merit) – regardless of the long-term financial status but in financial need at the moment
  • Sponsor
    • University (USC and other schools or universities)
    • Alumni
    • Industry/Private
    • Government
  • Source of funds
    • University (USC and other schools or universities)
    • Industry/Private
    • Government
    • others
  • Level of education
    • Basic Education (BED)/Senior High School (SHS)
    • Tertiary
    • Graduate

(The previous system of student financial assistance at certain education levels no longer applies and has been superseded by government enactments and guidelines that have substantive and long-term consequences and challenges to private educational institutions such as the University of San Carlos. Thus, the offering of other student financial assistance by the University has been rationalized and modified. Kind understanding of stakeholders concerned in these trying and difficult times would be sincerely appreciated.)
