Personal Background

Fr. Jerry M. Perocho, SVD is the School Director of the Liceo del Verbo Divino in Tacloban City. He is a religious missionary of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) and was ordained a priest on December 6, 2002.

Fr. Perocho served the order in numerous administrative capacities including District Superior and concurrent Director of the SVD Manobo School of the Agusan District (2010–14), and Provincial Council Member of the SVD Southern Province (2014–present). He sits in numerous Board and Corporate positions including Word Broadcasting Corporation, Holy Name University Hospital, SAMMI-Divine Word University Hospital, Liceo del Verbo Divino, Inc., and the Divine Word Educational Association (DWEA). Before his ordination, Fr. Perocho also served as an agriculturist of the Department of Agriculture in Cagayan de Oro City, training officer at the Agricultural Training Institute in Butuan City, and as Bayugan municipal and Agusan del Sur provincial veterinarian.

Educated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Davao Institute of Agricultural Foundation, Fr. Perocho also has a Certificate in Teaching from the Philippine Normal University and earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Christ the King Mission Seminary. He also has four master’s degrees in Public Administration (Father Urios University), Theology (Divine Word School of Theology), Educational Leadership Management (De La Salle University), and School Guidance and Counseling (Philippine Normal University). He is currently working towards his doctorate in Educational Administration.
