Arch ’93 comes home to USC

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, graduates of Architecture Class of 1993, with its batch name Arkitorture ‘93, came home to USC last August 17, 2018.

The homecoming started with a Holy Mass to be facilitated by the campus ministry at 9:00 a.m at the School of Architecture, Fine Arts, and Design (SAFAD) Theater.

This was followed by an activity called ARKITALK@25 in the same venue. Four alumni speakers talked about how Architecture shaped their lives and the community after 25 years. Ar. Jose Guardo talked about Architecture in Urban Innovation while Ar. Philip Khan Lim spoke about Architecture in Business. Meanwhile, Ar. Eufracio Maratas talked about Architecture in Politics and Policy Making while Ar. Joel Jao discussed Architecture Designing for Disaster and Climate Resiliency. The audience included graduating architecture students.

A simple honoring ceremony for the faculty members during Class ‘93’s tenure in the University highlighted the morning activity. A catching-up lunch with their former faculty members followed.

In the afternoon, Arkitorture ‘93 toured around the campus and the Bunzel Bldg, which served as their second home 1988 to 1993. The day ended with a casual and relaxing fellowship dinner at Casino Español Sports Bar, Cebu City.

Class ‘93 spent the second day with a lot of food, fun, and exciting games at the Maribago Blue Waters Resort in Lapulapu City.

The lead organizer for this two-day event is Ar. Ritche Sienes, Arkitorture ‘93 class president.
