Easter Message 2024

Dear Beloved Basic Education Community!

This Easter 2024, let us reflect on the profound message of hope and renewal that this Easter season brings. For many of us in the Basic Education Department, Easter is a time to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is a chapter in Christ’s life that resembles our own story but offers solace and strength in the face of hardship. Christ himself experienced hardships before the resurrection. We, too, may have experienced the same along our journey as students, teachers and co-workers who would face stumbling blocks toward attaining particular goals.

As we continue on the journey, bearing in mind other relevant concerns such as the upcoming Intramurals, examinations, graduation, and the like, let us be reminded that in order to progress in the journey, there should be reciprocal trust: trust in ourselves, in the people we encounter, and most of all our unfailing trust in Him. Pope Francis describes the Easter event as Pasch, a word that means “passage.” Jesus’ decisive passage from death to life maybe likened to our own Pasch: gloom to joyful proclamation and darkness to illumination.

The message of Easter extends far beyond religious traditions. It is a universal celebration of rebirth, new beginnings, and the triumph of life over darkness. This Easter, let the spirit of the season inspire you. Let it be a time to:

  • Reflect on your own growth: Think about the challenges you have overcome and the ways you have grown as a person especially with your stay in the Basic Education Department.
  • Spread kindness and compassion: Reach out to those in need and share the spirit of Easter with others through our worthwhile activities to particular communities.
  • Embrace new beginnings: Perhaps there is a goal you have been wanting to pursue or a change you have been considering. Easter is a perfect time to plant the seeds for something new that will help you grow to become better individuals.

Amidst the hustle and the bustle of our daily lives in the department, we may lose sight of the essence of Easter. Yet, amidst these noise and distractions, let us pause to reflect the fundamental truth it unveils: in life’s trials and tribulations, there exists a pathway to a renewed and transformed life (Fr. Paulus Budi Kleden, SVD Superior General).

Wishing you a blessed and joyful Easter!
