Interior Design student wins bronze medal in Singapore

Interior Design Kateryll Shazneigh Maneja won a bronze award in the Singapore Interior Design Awards (SIDA) 2023 organized by the Society of Interior Designers, Singapore (SIDS) held at the National Design Center in Singapore on November 9, 2023.

Maneja’s work, Calypso: Wine and Bar incorporated mangrove trees as the subject of her conceptual inspiration with its sinewy roots through fluid, undulating motifs of Art Nouveau, located in the coastline where the users are engaged with the mystifying and relieving ambiance of the mangrove forest (see part of her design below).

Under the mentorship of IDr. Hermie Ray Oplado, Maneja was the lone finalist from the Philippines in SIDA under the Youth Category

The category featured completed academic projects by Singaporean students and international design institutions, providing future generations of designers with a platform to commemorate the start of their design careers.
