No classes, work on December holidays

There will be no online classes for Carolinian students and no work for employees both on-site and from home on December 4 and 8, 2020. In a joint memorandum dated December 1, 2020 from the Offices of the Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs and Administration, the USC community is advised to essentially take a break from classes and other administrative work on these holidays.

Friday, December 4, 2020 was declared as a special non-working holiday in the Province of Cebu following Proclamation No. 1053 issued last November 18, 2020 by President Rodrigo R. Duterte. December 4th is the birth anniversary of Sergio Osmeña Jr., the son of President Sergio Osmeña Sr.; Serging Jr. served as Governor of Cebu, Mayor of Cebu City, Congressman of the 2nd District of Cebu, and Senator of the Republic of the Philippines.

December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, which was also declared as a special non-working holiday through Republic Act 10966 issued last December 29, 2017.
