The Carolinian delegates bested 68 students from 17 different Pharmacy schools in the Philippines after tackling thirty questions in three rounds focusing on professional subjects taken from the new pharmacy curriculum.

Lorraine V. Tagle, their faculty-coach, Micah M. Areja, the Department of Pharmacy Undergraduate Program Coordinator, and Dr. Gerard Lee L. See, Dean of the School of Health Care Professions, mentored the students.

This year’s quiz bee with the theme, “Intelligence Unleashed: Pharmacy Excellence through Exceptional Lifelong Knowledge”, was organized by the Junior Philippine Pharmacists Association-Fellowship Baptist College Chapter and the Federation of Junior Chapters of the Philippine Pharmacist Association.

Receiving the award, the USC team was joined by their coach Lorraine V. Tagle, R.Ph., Pharm.D. (center photo) and officers and the adviser of the Federation of Junior Chapters of the Philippine Pharmacist Association.

The students’ success at the national scene displays the Carolinian core value of excellence and affirms the quality of the teaching-learning process at the USC Department of Pharmacy.

As the winning school, USC will host the contest in the succeeding year.
