USC and MSU-IIT sign memorandum of academic collaboration

The University of San Carlos and the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) signed on Saturday, January 14, 2023 a memorandum of academic collaboration.

The memorandum was signed by University President Fr. Narciso A. Cellan Jr., SVD, D.Comm. and MSU-IIT Chancellor Prof. Alizedney M. Ditucalan, J.D., Ll.M.

Also signing as witnesses to the landmark agreement was USC Vice President for Academic Affairs Fr. Jesuraj Anthoniappen, SVD, Ph.D., USC Assistant VP for Academic Affairs Atty. Joan S. Largo, Ll.M., MSU-IIT Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Ephrime B. Metillo, Ph.D., and MSU-IIT Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise Prof. Gaudencio C. Petalcorin Jr., Ph.D.

The memorandum seeks to create programs that promote institutional development and academic enhancement including student training, academic exchange, and programs in instruction, research, and faculty development.

School of Education Dean Richard R. Jugar, Ph.D. spoke about the rationalization of student workload initiatives of USC, while Research, Development, Extension, and Publications Office Director Patrick John Y. Lim, Ph.D. shared USC’s research agenda and completed projects of its various research centers.

Chancellor Ditucalan underscored the many common interests between MSU-IIT and USC and eagerly expects specific collaborations to be quickly forged between the universities’ educators and researchers.Also in attendance during the signing ceremony were Prof. Cenie M. Vilela-Malabanan, Ph.D. (MSU-IIT Director, Center for Pedagogical Innovations) and Legal Education Board Commissioner Atty. Josefe Sorrera-Ty as an observer.
