The University of San Carlos, in partnership with the SVD Philippines Southern Province and the Word Broadcasting Corporation, is continuously providing assistance to Cebu-based communities that were hit by Typhoon Odette on December 16, 2021.

As the province recovers from the aftermath of the super typhoon, Task Force Odette contributes to the post-typhoon measures through cash assistance and relief packs. The team is also giving out in-kind donations such as fuel for generators and potable drinking water in Metro Cebu and Southwest Cebu.

Task Force Odette prepares to distribute rice and canned goods in affected areas in Southern Cebu.

On January 12, 2022, the task force delivered sacks of rice and canned goods for 4,543 people in Ronda, Cebu. Meanwhile, relief packs were distributed to 2,196 families in Alcoy on January 17. The team also visited other areas including Alegria, Aloguinsan, Argao, Badian, and Sibonga.
