USC ComE 93 returns home

Alumni of ComE Class 1993 pose for posterity during their fellowship night.

Commemorating its 25th year anniversary, the Computer Engineering Class of 1993 visited the University of San Carlos last July 13, 2018.

The homecoming started with a Holy Mass at St. Arnold and St. Joseph Church in Talamban Campus officiated by the University Chaplain Fr. Eugene Docoy, SVD.

After the Mass, a campus and laboratory tour followed. Class 1993 had the opportunity to see the different laboratories of the Department of Computer Engineering namely the NCR laboratory, Computer Education and Application Center (CEAC), Digital Microprocessor Laboratory (DML), and Software Engineering Computer Networks (SECN) laboratory.

Class of 1993 also conducted an outreach held in collaboration with the City Social Welfare Services of Mandaue City where they gave grocery items to street kids (see photo above). After typhoon Yolanda, ComE Class ’93 also initiated an outreach called “Raise the Roof” where they donated iron sheets to the typhoon victims in Medellin, Cebu.

In the evening, the class had an exclusive fellowship where they did a walk down memory lane through a night of fun, games, and dancing.

Lead organizers of the class’ activities were Sandra Copinco, Janet Chua, Alvin Ang, Sharon Pantalunan, and Em-em Patalinghug.
